Today is Mothers day…and without my three sweet babes I would not have the honor of carrying the title Mother. So I wanted to give them something for giving me the most amazing gift in the world… The cherished gift of being a Mommy…. Here is a letter from me to them.
To my three loves,
Being your Mama has been the best experience of my entire life. When you came into this world, my heart was forever changed. I never knew what the love of a child could do to a person. For me, it made me soft again. It broke down so many walls around my heart that I never thought would fall. You made me feel emotions I had never experienced in the lifetime before you. I never knew a person could feel excitement, sadness, pride and worry all at the same time until I saw you each of you take your first step, or ride your first bike, or get on the bus all alone for the very first time. I never knew a simple word could effect me so much until after I heard “Mama” come out of your mouths the very first time. Your love has carried me through some of my hardest times in life, and has given me hope when everything seemed to be falling apart. Your smiles have made most of my brightest days. Your sweet soft touch made be understand what gentle truly means. Your bravery has taught me to take my own chances when I normally would have been too afraid. Your tight hugs leave me wishing they would never end, and and that you would stay little enough to fit snug in my arms forever.
But I know each day you are getting bigger and bigger and some day I will have to let you fly in this big world without me two steps behind you.
I pray when that time comes you never forget those long hours of reading and cuddling just because. I pray you always know that no matter how far you stray you always have a home to come back to. I pray that no matter how big you get, your God is always bigger. I pray no matter how old you are, you will never be too old call for me when you need me. I pray when you look back at your childhood, you always remember having a mama who saw how special you are and who loved you with all her heart.
Thank you for giving me purpose that I thought I would never find.
I love each of you with all my heart, and cant imagine life without you.
